…well, at least touched down. I’ve arrived in Portland, but didn’t get to do this week’s show live, because I had to go to Seattle (actually, Bellevue) for the weekend. I won’t get to do next week’s show in the studio either, but May 30th, I’ll be officially back in the saddle.

That Sound #42 - It’s just like Clinton vs Obama!

Earlier this week, watching CNN coverage of the Indiana and North Carolina Democratic primaries (won by Clinton and Obama, respectively), and surfing music blogs in the same night, I realized that the same choice presented to Democrats is also the case with a lot of newly released music: So many established artists with long careers are releasing music, and we pretty much know what kind of album to expect from them. That’s why we love them. But we also love surprises, new faces, new voices.

So that’s what this week’s show is all about. Young vs Old. Established vs Up-and-Coming. Who is better equipped to dominate the airwaves? That’s up to you, the listener, to decide.

(Also, a couple notes: 1. This episode didn’t air on KPSU tonight.  2. Last week’s episode was hosted by Jonny Ragel of Boy Eats Drum Machine awesomeness. It’ll be posted here as soon as I’m able, but I’ll be back-dating it so that everything stays in order. Just keep an eye out for it. 3. I haven’t quite gotten back to Portland yet, I should be there Monday. OK, Mom?)
