I don’t know if it’s because of Internet information overload, or just because I’m getting older, but I’m finding it harder to get into new bands than I used to. New bands used to be my favorite part of doing my radio show, but now I look at a blog page full of new bands to check out, and I feel that same pang of pre-exhaustion I get when I see three baskets full of laundry to fold.

So it’s always a relief to see new music come along from artists I’ve loved in the past, especially if it’s been more than the “standard” two-year gap since their last release, but more importantly, if the new material holds up against their old.
