People have sometimes, over the years, wondered if part of why the Pacific NW is such a musically innovative region is that there are so many months when rain forces people indoors, that there’s nothing left to do but make music. While there may be truth to that, there is most certainly a tipping point, in which the rain not only forces you indoors, but also drains your will to live, or at least your will to create.

It’s been an especially rainy fall and winter here, and while that’s not necessarily the only factor that’s kept me from doing this show over the past three months (I am a full-time dad, after all), it certainly hasn’t helped.

Even as I write this, the sky is still a dishrag, and most lawns around here are more moss than grass, but even this incessant rain can’t keep the days from getting longer (or keep me from taking my Vitamin D capsules). So, I pulled a late-nighter after the wife and kid were in bed, and, WHOOMP! Here it is.
