Dave, I just listened to the podcast, was too busy watching the Olympics to get to it earlier. ;) My Dad was born in Moncton, New Brunswick but I was born in Michigan, so I consider myself half Canuck. I loved the gold medal hockey game, was pretty much just hoping it was close and exciting, and got my wish.

Anyways, I loved the podcast. I ended up downloading 7 of the songs like Sloan, the Pinecones, and Beast. It always puzzles me when I talk to people and they don't know bands like the Tragically Hip of Sam Roberts. Then I listen to your podcast and realize I don't know any of the new stuff coming out of the Great White North. Please keep it coming. Thanks!

There a lot of good music in Canada and there a forgotten part of Canada that grow a lot of good band: Québec. Beast is a good exemple there also a lot of young indie group that sing in french and begin to get some attention like Malajube. You should maybe check them out.

Wow, thanks! That's about the best compliment I could get.

Chad is a solid dude, I hope I can meet him in person someday. Your design work is really great, by the way! Love it.

Hi Dave,

Great mix! Chad (of Johnny Headband) had sent me your podcast because he thought I'd like it. (I'm Canadian and I love great music).. and I love it. Love, love, love.

This list was like listening to Radio 3, only without all the songs I don't like.

Thanks!

You do us Canadians proud,

@Dave, though i tend to fill my ears with loads of sonic disaster (ie rap-metal, heavy rock, hip-hop), surprisingly i have always loved singer/songwriters, back to the days of Cat Stevens and Fleetwood Mac (Lindsey and Christine are amazing in their softer songs). coming up through the decades, i've loved early albums from Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Marc Cohn and others. these are the artists i tend to admire most.

currently i listen to an unimaginable amount of boston-based singer/songwriter Adam Ezra. you'll see he made #4 on my best of 2008. http://www.411mania.com/music/columns/94011

i also listen to his former backup vocalist Abbie Barrett. she was my #42 best song of 2009. (you probably saw that already).

*in my best Paul Harvey voice* and that's....... the rest of the story. good day.

i think of Depeche the way you think of PSB, and vice versa.

i feel that DM has held up great over time, including their latest effort. songs like 'in chains', 'hole to feed', 'wrong' and 'corrupt' are almost on par with Violator-era music. not quite as good (i mean that's a pretty unrealistic goal - to beat Violator), but close enough.

however, the two PSB songs i heard from Yes didn't thrill me at all. i'll take Introspective over Yes hands-down. for an in-depth analysis, my 2 star review of Love Etc is somewhere on this page: http://www.411mania.com/music/columns/113224

as for Bad Lieutenant, yep great album. solid the whole way through. reminds me of less-electronic Republic. still doesn't sound like they have/need 3 guitarists though. go fig.

just starting up show #88...

Dear Dave:

as a "dang Euroepan", I find the Day/Month/Year sequence much more "rational" than any of its alternatives (but who cares about "reason" in these "post-everything" days (besides "dang Europeans, that is...)).

I'm just kidding, and know you were too.

Love the dang show!!!!
