Hey Lulu! Thanks for stopping by!

I actually thought about the name "Music You'll Like," but the problem was that musicyoulllike.com looks messy when it's all typed out, and I couldn't think of a good enough way around that. When is the new Pato Fu coming out again?

Goya: Wow, thanks for the kind words and for finding your way here! That's so funny about (the lovely) Laura Veirs--I'm pretty sure I know the comments I made that you're referring to, and I never imagined that they'd actually make their way to her. But thanks for sharing the show with her. She's fantastic, and I'd love to have her on the show sometime. On the Baltimore tip, I haven't heard of the Virgin Festival, but I'm glad you had a good time.

James: Glad you like the name! I went through a few possible new names over the years, and I think I made the right choice. I don't have any plans to change the format of the show, though I might add a few interstitial sound elements, just to give it a little more panache. The biggest change you'll see is that I'm going to do more mp3 and video blogging, more than just once a week. But the name change is more to reflect what the show actually is, rather than signal a change in the content.

As for the RSS redirect, for various reasons I'm going to keep the old and the new separated for now, and maybe eventually fold the old material into the new site here. I'll check out the how-to link for sure.

Change is always good. "Music You'll Like" would be a great name, also.

Hi Dave, love the new name. Is the format of the show going to stay basically the same?

FYI, you can redirect your old podcast to a new URL, options are explained here:

http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/rss/rssRedirect.html

This will save some users the trouble of doing it manually.

Dave,

Congrats on your 5th anniversary, and welcome to WordPress. It's a great format. Looking forward to your post regarding the name change.

A few things... Based on listening avidly to your show, I saw Laura Veirs in N. Virginia (at Iota, I believe) a few months ago. Having arrived early, I got a chance to chat with Laura, who is great, of course, and I dropped your name and (old) website, pointed out the episodes featuring her (they looked it up on their laptop), and happened to mention a few very positive comments you made about her (on Feb 16th episode?). She seemed flattered. I hope maybe you'll get a chance to chat with her.

Second, this past weekend, I went to the Virgin Festival in Baltimore (huge, 2-day music fest event, not sure if you're familiar). Part of why I loved it so much was that I recognized a few bands solely because of having listened to your PMR show. So, I owe you a bit of thanks. Thanks!

Be well!

Thanks, Shelly! Glad you found your way here. As you can see, I went with a different name than the one I asked your opinion on.

Aaron: Congrats on starting your new podcast! I'll definitely check it out.

Dave,

As a long-time fan, I'm proud of you taking this step. Oddly enough, your format is pretty much what I started doing for my own music podcast last week.

One word of advice: use feedburner.com to handle your rss feeds. It's been pretty good for me.
