Shelly: I know that, as an aspiring Canadian, it must seem to you like I'm throwing everything away. But Portland is really an amazing place, and Oregon is, in the words of Stephen Colbert, "California's Canada."

Jason: Thanks! I'm looking forward too to how it changes and evolves. For one, I'll probably be doing all my shows live again, instead of recording and having the luxury of doing edits and multiple takes. Which, on a good week, isn't much of an issue anyway. But still, the difference between recording and being live can be like the difference between playing Tony Hawk on Playstation and ACTUALLY skateboarding. Should be fun!

I've enjoyed all the shows I've heard of yours, Sara, and look forward to meeting you too. Would you be interested in filling in on my show sometime? I'll be needing someone now and again.

Congrats Dave! Good to hear you'll be coming back to the City of Roses. We will await you with open arms. Do you have work lined up? If not, send a resume and I'll keep an eye out for you.

Thanks, Jeremy, for the encouragement. It's good to hear from someone who's come out the other side.

As for where all the radio people hang out, I've always assumed it was at Council Crest, because that's where all the radio towers are. But I've spent multiple afternoons there, waiting for the Z100 Morning Zoo, or Paul Harvey, or SOMEBODY I'd recognize (oh, wait...) to emerge from their studios, which I assume are located under, or at least near the towers, and it was to no avail. Nice view of the city, though.

Hey Dave,

Congrats on the move-- from one new Portlander to another (old) Portlander. I just finished spending eight months away from my wife and four and a half months away from our five month old, so I can relate-- truly, truly and with no sugar-coating. I'm on the other side of it now, though, and it has indeed already become worth it. Hope to meet you sometime at the place where all the radio people go to hang out, where ever that is.

Digging that new Heavy album, btw.
