    Is that some Conet Project stuff at the end?

    Yes–good ear! I *love* the Conet Project. It’s so eerie. My wife doesn’t find it that way, it’s just weird, scratchy recordings to her, but when I listen, I get that feeling you get when you’re hearing a really great ghost story.

    And, in light of the recent spy deportations, the recordings still have some cultural and political relevance to them.

    I’ll say! My mom took it the same way when I first obtained the recordings. Great for listening to in the dark in the wee hours.
